Relief from the Heat is available by using the MW2 (left) combined with the Flex Hose Kit 2 (click on link) in both Humid or Dry climates using water only. No ice is needed for cooling, however some ventilation is necessary. Just plug in the 10 foot (3 meter) power cord and add water.

Set the MW2 on the floor out of the way and set the Water Kit so it feeds water into the float area keeping the water level low. Normally the lower the water level the cooler the air, as there is more Cooling Pad to produce cool air.

The MW2 produces 15 to 20% more Cooling Velocity than the MW1, when using the Flex Hose Kit.
All evaporative coolers like the MW2 need ventilation to keep from building up humidity, therefore dust may still enter the cab, however you will be breathing cool filtered air through the Cooling Filter.

If money and inconvenience are no problem consider the MK3, (right below) which uses "Ice Water" for 12-Volt Air Conditioning. The MK3 uses about 20 pounds of ice Per Hour during the day and does not need outside ventilation.

A Battery Driven Portable System cannot be compared with an Engine driven Auto Air Conditioner. Therefore we always recommend you repair your existing A/C or install an engine driven Auto Air Conditioner. However if that is not possible we have your alternative!

Difference between an Aftermarket Air Conditioner & an Aftermarket Evaporative Cooler

One of the differences between the two are the methods used to produce cool air; air conditioning or evaporation. An Evaporative Cooler has cool air that feels like an ocean breeze. Air conditioning produces dry cool air like you feel in an properly air conditioned vehicle. People in dry climates most generally prefer an Evaporative Cooling and those in humid areas generally choose Air Conditioned air.

Both systems are preferred to cool people in a specific area; for example 'spot cooling'. They can be moved from place to place, thereby eliminating the need to expend vast amounts of energy to cool a large area. Aftermarket Portable Cooling saves not only energy, but also money. You may have central air of some type, however it could be set at a higher temperature to save energy, while using Aftermarket Portable Models for Spot Cooling.

The following question was taken from our FAQ Section

1. How Large an Area will an Aftermarket Air Conditioner cool?

Seems like a logical question, however Aftermarket Portable Cooling Systems are typically designed for Spot Cooling, not area cooling. We do not know if the area to be cooled is well insulated or if it is cool to begin with or if there is enough power and other resources to maintain a full power-on situation. It does not matter if you are using a Aftermarket Portable Cooling System in an auditorium or a phone booth. Size does not make any difference because you will place the Portable device where you need it to feel cool air on yourself! That is the advantage of Portable Systems.

The bottom line: If there is no limit on resources install a properly sized built-in cooling device. If, on the other hand, there are limited resources of energy and/or finances utilize a Aftermarket Portable Cooling System to provide that needed relief from the heat! Our Portable Aftermarket Air Conditioner is strong enough to blow the papers off your desk, yet much quieter than TV commercials! More Answers on this subject.Proto Type Jeep never produced

What are the Dimensions, Amperage Draw and Water Capacity?

One gallon (3.75 liters) of water will last around two to three hours in the daytime and four to five hours during the night when used for evaporative cooling in dry desert climates. The "Ice Water" models typically use from 10 pounds (4.5 kilograms) to 20 pounds (9.0 kilograms) of ice Per Hour, depending on the ambient temperature and day or night operation.

A 105 Deep Cycle battery, "not being charged", allows the MW1 & MW2 to operate for 50 to 80 hours and the "Ice Water" models like the MK3, MK4, MAC & M400 will operate for 25 to 35 hours before the battery needs charging. The S154 & AC12 Models will operate about 8 hours before the battery would need charging, as they use more energy.

Evaporative Cooler Models MW1/MW2 use Water only and the WIN could use both Ice and Water. The AC 12 will not cool with Water. The M400, MK3, MK4, MAC, & MG4 Provide; Dual Air Conditioning using Ice or Water
All Dual Systems automatically dispose of the excess condensation collected
